It consists of a UV lamp, a lampshade, a transformer (ballast), and a capacitor (trigger).

1. UV lamps There are currently two types of UV lamps on the market: high pressure mercury lamps and metal halide lamps. High pressure mercury lamps are commonly used in domestic equipment, and some of the imported equipment are metal halide lamps.

1. Selection of UV lamp power.

(1) The power of UV lamps is the radiant energy of UV lamps, also called penetrating power. First, it must meet the requirements of the spectral wavelength and power density of UV ink (varnish) absorption. If the power of the UV lamp is not enough, even if the lighting time is longer and the UV curing device is used more often, the product will not be completely cured. On the contrary, the UV ink (varnish) surface layer will age, seal, become brittle, etc. At the same time, the adhesion of the ink (varnish) is not good, which will cause poor bonding between layers. Because low-power UV light cannot penetrate the bottom of the ink layer, the bottom is not cured or cured insufficiently. (

2) UV lamp power should generally meet the requirements of 80 ~ 120W / cm, but the greater the power, the greater the heat, so the power should be selected according to the curing material and curing speed.

(3) The maximum life of the UV lamp is generally 800-1000 hours, and it should be replaced as soon as it is reached, because the intensity of the ultraviolet light emitted by the UV lamp at this time period becomes weak, which will affect the curing effect. At the same time, it is recommended that the surface of the lamp tube and the reflector on the surface of the reflector be cleaned with anhydrous ethanol at an appropriate time according to the production environment (the amount of dust in the air), and then the UV lamp tube should be turned 90 °. This is conducive to the effective radiation of UV rays to UV ink or varnish, ensuring a certain penetration.

2. Reflector The types of reflectors are focused, non-focused, and multi-faceted. The focus type is generally used. The structure of this reflecting cover is characterized by concentrated UV light energy and high light curing efficiency, which is conducive to the curing of the thick ink layer and the deep layer of the ink can be completely cured. In this regard, attention should be paid to the selection and shape of the reflector.

(1) The material must be selected from aluminum, not iron or stainless steel in order to save costs, because stainless steel plates will turn black at high temperatures. After blackening, they will not only reflect light but also absorb light. The best reflection effect is the mirror alumina plate, whose reflectivity can reach more than 80%, which greatly improves the utilization rate of ultraviolet rays.

(2) Shape The shape of the reflector is to ensure that the UV light can be gathered together, so the semicircular arc shape is the best choice. Also pay attention to the erection position of the UV lamp to ensure that it is in focus. In addition, the reflection cover is an important channel for heat dissipation of UV lamps, so the outside of the aluminum cover must be processed into a heat sink to increase the heat dissipation area. The reflector plays a very important role in the UV curing device. Some manufacturers often ignore its role, and use some alternatives to serve as reflectors, or not even install reflectors, so that 40% -50% of the UV energy of UV lamps is wasted. The response of some manufacturers is to blindly increase the power of the UV lamp. This will not only solve the problem fundamentally, but also cause greater waste of power.

3. The choice of transformer must match the power of the UV lamp. That is, the transformer must have sufficient output voltage to ensure that the UV lamp can work at full power. If the output voltage is too high, the tube will burn out; and if the output voltage is too low, the tube will not work at full power, which will cause insufficient UV output intensity.

4. The selection of capacitors should be matched with the lamps and transformers. According to the output voltage of the transformer, the withstand voltage of the capacitor used is selected. Improper selection will cause the capacitor to breakdown, affecting the normal operation of the UV curing device.
